I have presented a few selections in the left side frame that take you to presentations of a few interests that I have at the moment.
Piano tuning is a major interest as I am in the final stages of preparation for the Piano Technicians Guild exams that will lead me to be registered as a full member. (RPT) This work will serve me well into the many years ahead. My registered business name is "The Piano Tuner". As well as managing my own business as The Piano Tuner, I am also serving Piano Tune Canada, the official tuners for Robert Lowrey's Piano Experts.
In 2001 Baylor University offered a fairly rigorous website design course that included graphic design, programming in HTML, Java scripting, in CGI Perl and in managing Apache servers. This course has provided a solid basis for my activity in this area. Industrial control systems and advanced control applications are increasingly using HTML based user interfaces. I am currently managing the website for Piano Tune Canada.
INSTRUMENTATION, ADVANCED CONTROL and OPTIMIZATION
My career in control systems has covered many areas including instrumentation design, plant engineering and maintenance, process simulation, advanced multivariable control and process optimization. In depth industry experience has been gained in steel, oil and gas, petrochemicals, commodity chemicals and pulp and paper. A full resume of my qualifications and experience can be obtained by contacting me by the e-mail link below.
CANADIAN MUTUAL FUND PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
This financial section presents a set of reports that give rankings of Canadian mutual fund performance for different ways of looking at the data. There are also reports showing how the various asset classes are distributed for the various ranking methods. The data set represents the best 500 performers on a monthly basis.
This section describes the conceptual basis for RalphWaves and links to the moving graphs.
TSX STOCK PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS - Being Revised
In this set of performance reports the data set used is for a set of 100 stocks from the TSX, chosen somewhat arbitrarily. The types of rankings are similar to the those used for the mutual funds. However, there are no distribution reports for the industry groups represented in the 100 chosen stocks.
There is a group of reports that deal with technical analysis techniques for buy and sell decisions.
The "Ranking By RMSE of Deviations" shows the relative volatilities by ranking square root of the sum of the squares of the deviations form a 10-period moving average.
Recommended buy and sell signals are given using three technical analysis functions: MACD, RSI and Stochastic Oscillator. MACD is the most powerful and produces the most gains as a trading strategy.
USA STOCK PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS - Being Revised
In this set of performance reports is based on the set of 179 stocks from the Investor's Business Daily "IBD Top 100" for March 8 to April 26 2004. The reports presented is the same group as shown for the TSX above.
